The idea of “Tourist vs. Purist” can echo that of low vs. high. Classification invented to inspire aspiration, they are often entrenched in outdated images of culture: the desire to measure creativity by values such as "collectors" vs. everyday shopper, or “audiophile” vs. music lover.

Tourist//Purist Records will create a unique visual shopping experience like no other, that is still simple to navigate, find what you are looking for and even discover something new. It will look to inspire the Tourist (beginner/new vinyl shopper) to discover an artist or album they have never heard – And revive the Purist (audiophile/collector) with an experience different to what they’re accustomed too when shopping for vinyl (online). Creating a space where you can draw on characteristics between the two – Tourist//Purist

We aim to provide a secure and easy way for a new user to join the site and connect their chosen streaming platform so that we can easily provide records of artists that they enjoy and suggest new artists of similar genres. This will be achieved through a non-intrusive onboarding experience when the user signs up for Tourist Purist Records.
With a clean, modern, and functional website, we will take advantage of interaction types that are designed to make the shopping experience seamless (Instructing, Conversing and deeper responding interaction).
